Who is Esko Trails?
What seems like an eternity ago the local quilt shop was closing down. I was freshly out of college and my Dad was trying to help me figure out how I could buy that shop. I had grand ideas at the time, really grand. I still remember each of them . . . adult classes, kid classes, workshop time, etc. But, being a twenty-two years old, without a husband, insurance and let's face it . . . cash . . . kind of nixed the idea. I still think about that idea and have talked with my husband John about it hundreds of times. I sometimes wish I had taken the leap, but I really believe that all things lead us to where we are. So I'm glad I didn't buy that quilt shop, but . . .
Fast forward a couple decades (not quite, but who's counting), 15 years in a stressful corporate job, a husband, three kids, 5 houses, etc. and here I am. Still with the same dream of owning a creative business! So, what better time than now. A funny story of sorts, when I told my sister about the birth of Esko Trails, she said, "You should have done that a long time ago!" I guess we all feel the same way . . . so, here's to Esko Trails, some years in the making! |
